What is scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micropigmentation, also known as SMP, is a process where pigment is applied to the outer layer of the scalp to mimic the natural appearance of hair follicles. It’s similar to tattooing, and the ink used in SMP creates a permanent mark on the scalp, giving the impression of a full head of hair that’s been shaved or adding volume to thinning hair.

Your 4-day schedule

At LVC Aesthetics, we’ll start by providing you with a home study manual to support your learning. This comprehensive course handbook covers essential topics like legislation and start-up requirements, consultations, contraindications, micropigmentation origins, hygiene, health and safety (PPE), treatment room requirements, insurance, anatomy and physiology, specialized needles and equipment, understanding the client, colour theory, pain control, marketing, pigments, and skin.

During the initial four days of your training course, you’ll experience a combination of theory sessions and practical demonstrations. Our LVC Aesthetics experts will review your progress, ensuring you grasp the training material and procedures thoroughly.

On the second day, our expert tutors will showcase live demos, and you’ll have the chance to practice on synthetic skin. By day’s end, you’ll even try performing SMP on one of our models.

Days three and four will provide you with valuable hands-on experience, as you practice practical treatments on your model under expert supervision. At the end of day four, you’ll receive your certificate of attendance.

Upon completion, you’ll be officially qualified and ready to provide life-changing, expert procedures for your clients.
